Activities to Reduce Stress in Frisco

Modern life, as most of us live it, is stressful. Relaxing often falls to the bottom of our to-do lists.

We rush to work in heavy Dallas-Fort Worth traffic, work hard all day, rush home, and deal with a whole new list of responsibilities and requirements.

We barely slow down at all, are lucky to unwind for an hour or two before getting a minimal amount of sleep. Then, we wake up to do it all over again.

It’s easy to get locked into a vicious cycle of stress that takes a toll on our bodies.

It can negatively affect our hormonal health as well.

Five people sit in a semi-circle, practicing Yoga in the lotus position. Yoga is one of our recommended activities to reduce stress in Frisco.

Poor hormonal health in turn further weakens your body’s stress responses by increasing fatigue, irritability, and weighing you down with an additional load of mild depression.

Intentionally breaking this cycle by taking time to relax regularly can really pay off when it comes to preventing hormonal imbalances like low testosterone, hypothyroidism, or low estrogen.

Yoga On Main Street

6726 Main St #310, Frisco, TX

(214) 407-8337

Attending regular yoga sessions can reduce your chronic stress hormone levels by improving your parasympathetic nervous system, which is your counter-stress-response system. You can expect some increase in your reserves available to tolerate stress fairly rapidly.

Time away from the chaos of your busy schedule that’s spent in a calmer environment of non-judgement can also help in reducing stress.

Yoga on Main Street in Frisco comes highly recommended, with 9 of 10 Google reviews coming in at a perfect 5 stars. Here’s what some newcomers had to say:

“Amazing and life changing. I have never been disappointed by any class or any instructor!” — Juliann

“You can’t beat it! Yoga on Main Street is a wonderful place. I’m new to the yoga gig, so for me, learning and instruction are important. All of the instructors that I’ve had classes with are fantastic. I would highly recommend this place to my friends. If you’re considering it, don’t hesitate. You’ll be glad you did!” — Jason

The Frisco Running Club

Meets at the Frisco Running Store

9359 Legacy Dr #300a, Frisco, TX 75033

(214)619-2246

A lot of people say they hate running until they’ve tried it with a little guidance and some enthusiastic support from others with similar goals.

Running as a part of a group can be an entirely different activity, more social and recreational in nature, than punishing yourself to lose weight. The exercise, which can be tailored to any level, is a great way to reduce stress, but the comradery and enjoyment of a group of active, positive, enthusiastic people can really reduce feelings of isolation and being overwhelmed.

A reduced-cost team workout at North Frisco CrossFit could also provide another avenue to try.

With activities almost every day of the week, the Frisco Running Club is a great fit for almost any schedule.
