Spring Events Near Prosper
The spring season is the best time to go outside in DFW (before the scorching weather arrives).
From festivals to 5ks (and everything in between), there are tons of amazing outdoor events available in North Texas this spring.
Prosper and the surrounding area has a couple of events worth checking out (even if you’re not as physically active as you’d like to be). Here are a few recommendations.
Prosper Eagle 5k
Saturday, March 30th at 8:30 a.m.
Lorene Rogers Middle School
1001 Coit Rd
Prosper, TX 75078
Rogers Middle School in Prosper is hosting a charity 5k race toward the end of March, with all proceeds from the event going to the school.
Apart from the 5k race, there will be another, shorter race. The alternative one-mile race will still contribute to the proceeds, though it will be at a lower rate.
The cost for adults participating in the 5k is $30, and it’s $20 for the 1 Mile Fun Run. Registering for either of these events gets you a t-shirt.
McKinney St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Shamrock Run 5k
Saturday, March 16th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
721 Anderson Street
McKinney, TX 75069
The race begins at 9 a.m. at Tupps brewery, and the festival begins a bit later at 10 a.m. The festival will have food, music, and beer.
Attending the festival is free for the whole family. Tickets for the race are $30, and beer passes are being sold for $20. A beer pass gets you a commemorative koozie and three 16-ounce beers.
Those who sign up for the race will receive a medal for participation, a shirt, and a swag bag filled with goodies.
In previous years, racers have worn St. Patrick’s Day attire in matching shades of green, but it’s optional.
Mother’s Day Goat Yoga
Saturday, May 11th from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Farmhouse Coffee & Treasures
1300 Homestead Way
Argyle, TX 76226
An outdoor yoga lesson, where participants can mingle with baby goats throughout the session, will be held at Farmhouse Coffee and Treasures in Argyle.
Tickets for this event are still available, and they are being sold for $20. You can add a yoga mat for $7 if you don’t already have one. In the event of rain or inclement weather, the lesson will be canceled and moved to a later date.
