FC Dallas Soccer in Frisco

FC Dallas, the professional soccer team, calls Toyota Stadium in Frisco home. With 2 more home games left to go this season, October 6th and 21st, there’s still a chance to catch one of the games without having to drive into the big city.

Dia de Los Muertos — the Day of the Dead Festival in Denton

Located just 20 miles west on Highway 380, Prosper residents can attend events in Denton for a change of pace.

The Day of the Dead Festival will be held at the Denton Square on Saturday, October 27, 2018. The free, family-friendly event, held outdoors on East Hickory and Industrial Street, offers games and activities for everyone, including:

  • A salsa cook-off
  • Street performers
  • Vendor booths that feature local art, crafts, and food

There will also be a lantern-lit twilight parade and a Halloween musical.

The Balloon Festival — Plano

45-50 hot air balloons from various countries will lift off September 21st-23rd from Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve.

The balloons will launch, weather permitting:

  • Friday at 6pm
  • Saturday at 7am and 6pm
  • Sunday at 7am and 6pm

Willow Bend Farmers Market — Plano

Southeast of Prosper, the city of Plano hosts Red Tent Markets each Saturday, 9am to 2pm, at the Shops at Willow Bend in the parking lot near the Macy’s entrance at the corner of Chapel Hill and Plano Parkway.

At this farmers market, over 30 vendors sell:

  • Locally grown produce
  • Baked goods
  • Handmade artisan goods
  • Grass-fed beef

Home for the Holidays — McKinney

Located 12 miles to the east of Prosper on Highway 380, the city of McKinney will hold a “Home for the Holidays” festival to open the Christmas season.

Held on November 23-24 from 10am to 8pm, and November 25, 12pm to 5pm, the festival will include the following entertainment:

  • Traditional live Christmas music
  • Dancing
  • Food and festivities
  • Arts and crafts
  • A Ferris wheel and carousel
  • Costumed characters
  • Visits with Santa
  • Petting zoo
